He is famous as a opera conductor, being his favorite composers Wagner, Strauss, Mozart and twentieth century composers Carl Orff and Karl Amadeus Hartmann. He succeeded Erich Kleiber in 1956 as conductor for the Teatro Col? n in Buenos Aires. From 1976 to 1980 worked in The Hague as principal conductor of Het Residentie Orkest. 4 x 5. 75 inches , stamped on verso Photo Hertha Ramme, Zurich.
